Women experiencing Menopause
Menopause and weight loss

Unfortunately, it can be harder to lose weight after menopause. In fact, many women gain an average of 5 pounds after menopause. Lower estrogen levels play a role in weight gain after menopause, however, weight gain may be caused by your metabolism slowing down as you age, less-healthful eating habits, and being less active. You also lose muscle mass as you age, so you use fewer calories.

Staying active and eating healthy foods can help you stay on track with your weight-loss goals. However, understanding menopause and how it affects us not only physically but mentally is the most important step to staying healthy. Some women have very little menopausal symptoms including weight gain, whereas some experience extreme symptoms and body changes. There are many tools women use to help manage menopausal symptoms including weight gain. There are many resources that can be found on Amazon- and I've included a link here for them.
