Life is Good

Everyday, I talk with women regarding weight concerns, weight loss and getting active. Talking and referring folks to reference material on these topics, is one thing. However, to make this journey easier, I've decided to share my own personal journey in getting more healthy and fit in order to better include my patients and friends. We all struggle to improve upon ourselves because that's what part of life is all about-and life is a journey we dont take alone. So, as I share my experience, I encourage you to share your thoughts and ideas with me regarding your personal health and wellness journey also.

As best I can, and as time allows, I'll be posting what I am doing to achieve a healthier, more active life. I will not lead you to any specific diet plan or excercise program, rather I will share mine and encourage you to seek out your own.

Personally, I am aware that trying to begin a more rigid meal plan is impossible during the holidays. Time to commit to an excersice program is also limited due to hanging out with good friends and family. So instead of failing and feeling bad about my progress, I've decided to wait until life slows down some , so that's going to be after January 1st.

Eat Well & Feel Good

This is a great time however, to get my ducks in a row. So here are some of the general key steps to being prepared for January. Throughout the end of this month, I will take time and address each more in detail, so you can also get ready along with me.

-Find out about your current health/fitness level

-Honestly look at your current diet

-Honestly determine how physically active you are right now

-Understand what your physical limitations are, if any

-You should have a physical exam or consult with a medical provider before beginning any dietary and or excercise program. If it's been awhile, you should get a health checkup. This is actually something that could save your life. There are certain ailments and diseases that can affect weight gain, weight loss, and can cause fatigue, as well as the ability to participate in strenuous activities. Various testing can identify these problems before they can be life threatening.

-Set realistic personal goals, both short and long-term, to improve health

-Make goals based on health before image

-Set a timetable/schedule that is achievable

-Insure that you have adequate time to excercise during the week

-Insure that you have access to nutritious foods

-Find a fitness program/ app and/or a workout facility

-If you can, find a workout buddy or friend who is trying to find similar succcess

-Find a meal plan you want to follow (we'll review several soon)

-Deterimine how you plan to chart your progress

-Visualize your lifestyle changes

COMMIT!
