Eating healthy means following a healthy eating pattern that includes a variety of nutritious foods and drinks. It also means getting the number of calories that’s right for you (not eating too much or too little). Choose a mix of healthy foods whether you are planning a complete meal or just a snack. Here are some healthy choices that I enjoy from these food groups! You should pick a variety of foods that you enjoy and don't hesitate to try new things! Iv'e found that trying new foods can offer greater menu selections and can make meals more exciting and enjoyable.

Here is an overview of the basic food groups that everyone should be familiar with:
Whole fruits —Apples, berries, oranges, mango, bananas, etc. Are there Benefits of Whole Fruits vs. Fruit Juices/Juicing?
Veggies —Such as broccoli, sweet potatoes, beets, okra, spinach, peppers, and carrots.
Whole grains —We're talking brown rice, millet, oatmeal, bulgur, and whole-wheat bread
Proteins —Try to select leaner cuts of beef including leaner ground beef, pork, chicken, eggs, and seafood. Also beans and lentils, nuts and seeds, as well as tofu are great protein sources for those who wish to cut down or eliminate meat proteins.
Low-fat or fat-free dairy — Like milk, yogurt, cheese, lactose-free dairy, and fortified soy beverages (soy milk) or soy yogurt. Generally you probably won't find any significant difference in taste.
Oils —Choose healthy oils and oils in foods like seafood, avocado, and nuts. Here is a list of 7 healthiest oils that you cvan use in your diet:

My favorite oil is extra virgin olive oil. A number one brand is ZOE All Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Some specialty oils, like avocado, grapeseed, rice bran and sesame, can be healthy choices but may cost a bit more or be harder to find.
A healthy diet chosen from the above food groups is one of the best ways you can improve your health. Try to eliminate processed and fast foods from your diet. In truth, it is not cheap to eat healthy, but in the long run it can decrease healthcare costs and decrease your health risks.
